This week we focused on Apples. We read Amazing Apples, talked about the life cycle of an apple, read our Weekly Reader as a whole group, made window cling apples, fingerprinted apples onto trees, painted with apples using red, yellow, and green paint, practiced positional words with our wood pieces, sang “Way Up High in the Apple Tree” and practiced counting down from 10, and made applesauce. In our small groups we decorated A’s by cutting and pasting apples, made an apple book to practice positional words, and tasted apples. We had so much fun making our applesauce. They each got to use the apple peeler and add their apple to the pot. Tasting it was the best part even though the applesauce was hot! Thank you to everyone who supplied an apple to make this project a success! Look for the pictures on a separate blog post.
