Ms. Beth's Newsletter January 6th, 2017

Classroom News
Welcome Back!  I hope that everyone had a relaxing and fun break.  This week we focused on Winter.  We discussed how we know it is winter, what things we do in winter, read Over and Under the Snow, talked about what animals do in winter, painted a snowpal, sang a snowman song to practice counting down and played an alphabet game on the Ipads. We also read The Mitten, sequenced the animals, played a flannel story game, and learned vocabulary words from the story.  In our small groups we made letters with playdough, read our Weekly Reader about snow, and water colored a W.  Our nursery rhyme was Three Little Kittens and we sang the song and acted out the different ways to “cry” with sadness and to “cry” with joy.  We also welcomed Miss Abby to our classroom.  She is the new assistant teacher and also student teaching toward her degree in Early Childhood Education.
